Questions We Hear Every Week

Don't see your question? Give us a call β€” we're happy to help.

How quickly can you respond to an emergency call? β–Ό

Our average response time inside Loop 1604 is under 90 minutes. For after-hours emergencies (door stuck open, vehicle trapped, broken spring) we dispatch 24/7 β€” including weekends and holidays.

How much does it cost to replace a broken torsion spring? β–Ό

Most single-spring replacements run $185–$245 installed, depending on the door size and spring cycle rating. Two-spring systems range from $295–$395. We always quote a flat rate upfront β€” never an hourly estimate.

Do you offer warranties on your work? β–Ό

Yes. Every installation carries a lifetime workmanship warranty from Umbrella Garage Doors. Manufacturer warranties (typically 3 to 25 years depending on the part) are registered in your name and provided in writing.

Are you licensed and insured? β–Ό

Absolutely. We carry $2,000,000 in general liability insurance, are bonded, and registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Certificates available on request.

What brands do you install? β–Ό

We are an authorized dealer for Clopay, Amarr, CHI Overhead Doors, and Wayne Dalton. Openers from LiftMaster, Genie, Chamberlain, Sommer, and Linear. We can also service most other brands.

Do you offer financing? β–Ό

Yes β€” we partner with GreenSky and Wells Fargo to offer 0% APR financing for 12 months on installations over $1,000, subject to credit approval.

How long does a new door installation take? β–Ό

A standard single-door replacement is typically completed in 4–6 hours. A two-car or custom carriage-house door takes 6–8 hours. We always finish in one visit when possible.

Can I install my own garage door spring to save money? β–Ό

We strongly recommend against it. Torsion springs store enormous mechanical energy and cause hundreds of serious injuries every year. The savings are not worth the risk, and most homeowners' insurance excludes DIY structural work.

Do you service commercial buildings? β–Ό

Yes β€” about 30% of our work is commercial. We service rolling steel doors, sectional doors, high-speed doors, and fire-rated doors. Service contracts available with priority response.

What areas do you serve? β–Ό

All of greater San Antonio β€” including Stone Oak, Alamo Heights, Olmos Park, Castle Hills, Shavano Park, Helotes, Boerne, Schertz, Cibolo, Universal City, New Braunfels, and Seguin. From our Todds Lane location we typically reach any address in Bexar County within 90 minutes.
